Asael González

Hispanic Congregation Pastor
I was born in the town of Bejucal, Havana, Cuba. My
father was a pastor in Cuba. He served the Lord for
more than 30 years. He suffered imprisonment under the
regime of this country. In 1980 our entire family left
the island to come to the United States; I was fifteen
at that time.
My first years in this country were wonderful, but
difficult, because of the language. I graduated from
high school in 1984 and went to college for a year,
but then had to drop out. Because of the death of my
father, I had to work full time to help support my mother.
Even though I was raised in a Christian home, the day
that I experienced my spiritual birth was October 15,
1989. I married my wonderful wife Martha in 1993 and
have two children, Martha Ariellys González and
Asael Geovany González.
In 1998 I was called by God to the ministry, while
serving the Lord in The First Hispanic Baptist Church
of Hialeah. I graduated and received a diploma in pastoral
ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
In 2001 God brought my family and me to Cape Coral
and to Grace Baptist Church to fulfill my first ministry
and continue the Hispanic ministry already established
in this church. If someone asked me, what is my passion?
I have to say: "music," so I combine my passion
with my spiritual gifts in order to serve the Lord.
My goal is to serve the Kingdom of Heaven. My purpose
in life is to be found faithful on the day I face the
Lord. My objective is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ,
my God and my Savior, with my entire life. I love God,
because He loved me first.
